Write for us
Rural Weekend Stories welcomes original pitches about the choices, pleasures and practical trade-offs of spending a weekend in the countryside. Send proposals through the Contact page; a focused idea is more useful than a finished article sent without context.
What we want to read
Pitch an evergreen subject a reader can use to plan or shape a rural break: comparing two kinds of stay, deciding how much to schedule, finding an easy pastime for a quiet afternoon or making a meal plan that leaves room for the day to change. We look for a distinct angle, clear reasoning and advice that does not depend on invented experience or unverified claims.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the working title, the central question, the main point you would make and why it suits Rural Weekend Stories. Add a brief outline and note any sources, access or commercial connection relevant to the proposal. Keep the idea specific enough to distinguish it from familiar travel copy, but broad enough to help readers beyond one named destination.
Before you send
Submissions should be original, accurate and written in clear English. Do not send confidential information or claim first-hand experience you do not have. We may edit accepted work for clarity, length and house style, and will discuss substantial changes. Use the Contact page to choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message.
A weekend away should fit the people taking it.
A scenic view is not a plan, and a full itinerary is not a better weekend. We look at the choices that make time away feel like your own.
